Tiki Dock Bar

The Tiki Dock is what it sounds like: a bar under a thatched roof on a dock at the village end of the Jensen Beach causeway, with stools facing the water, a menu of rum drinks and beer, fish tacos and conch fritters from a kitchen the size of a closet, and the sun going down over the lagoon every single evening. Boats tie up alongside, kayaks pull onto the sand next to it and the catwalk anglers wander over when the tide quits.
A band plays on Friday and Saturday evenings from October to May, loud enough to hear from the beach and not loud enough to stop a conversation. Sunday afternoons are the family hour, with children on the sand and the grown-ups at the rail. Weeknights are quiet and the bartender has time to tell you where the fish were.
It is cash-friendly, flip-flop friendly and dog friendly on the sand side. Parking is in the causeway lots, which fill at sunset; walk from the village if you can. The fish tacos are the thing to order and the conch fritters are the thing to share.
