An independent guide, written here

Sailfish Coast is a visitor guide to the Treasure Coast of Florida, from the Jupiter Inlet to the Jensen Beach causeway, written by two people who live on it. No sponsored listings, no booking fees, no advertising.

Published from a table by the Riverwalk stage in Stuart since 2019.

Our story

  • 2019
    The first map
Marin Alcott left the county paper and printed a folded map of the beaches, with the tide table on the back, for the hotels to hand out.
  • 2021
    The guide goes online
The map became a website: six regions, the places, the hours and where to park, kept up by walking the coast.
  • 2023
    The journal
Teo Bascombe came aboard to write about the fishing and the water, and the journal began with the first cold front of the season.
  • 2026
    A new site
Rebuilt on the Keel theme: faster, nothing loaded from anyone else’s servers, and this time with fictional businesses, to show what the theme can do.

Marin Alcott

Editor, regions and visitor information

Twelve years on the county paper’s news desk, then the map, then this. Walks Bathtub Reef most mornings before the lot fills, and keeps the listings honest.

Writer

Teo Bascombe

Writer, fishing and the water

Grew up fishing the inlet from a jon boat. Writes the journal’s fishing and on-the-water stories, and is the reason every charter listing names its captain.

The beaches, parks, inlets and museums are real. The businesses, people, prices and events are fictional, written to show what the Keel theme can do.
