What we collect

Almost nothing. This site has no analytics, no advertising, no comment forms and no contact forms. When you read a page, the server records the request in its log, as every web server does: the address of the page, the time, your browser’s name and your network address. The log is kept for thirty days and then deleted.

If you email us, we keep the email for as long as the conversation needs and the address for as long as you want the newsletter.

How we use it

The server log is used to find faults and to count, roughly, how many people read the guide. Email addresses are used to answer you and, if you asked, to send the monthly letter. Nothing is used to build a profile of you and nothing is used for advertising.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies for a visitor who reads it. WordPress, which the site runs on, sets a cookie only when someone signs in to edit it, and that is us. Nothing on this site loads from another company’s servers, so no one else can set a cookie through it either.

Who we share it with

No one. We do not sell, rent or share email addresses or the server log, and we have no advertising partners to share them with. If the law required us to hand over a log, we would, and we would say so here.

Your rights

Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, which will be an email address at most, correct it or delete it. Reply to any issue of the letter to come off the list; it takes one message and no password.

How to reach us

Email the guide at the address on the contact page, or write to the visitor desk by the Riverwalk stage in Stuart. A person answers within two working days.
