The old bridge at seven in the morning

The low old Roosevelt Bridge and the raised railroad lift bridge crossing the St. Lucie River, seen from the new bridge
The old bridge and the railroad bridge from the new Roosevelt Bridge, seven in the morning.

Three bridges cross the river at the same point: the new Roosevelt Bridge that carries US 1 high over everything, the old Roosevelt Bridge below it that opened in 1964 and still carries the local traffic, and the railroad lift bridge from 1938 that raises its span for every boat and lowers it for every train. From the sidewalk of the new bridge at seven in the morning you can watch all three work at once, which is reason enough to walk up there.
