Sailfish season kickoff

Saturday 14 November 2026, 10 am to 2 pm

Flagler Park, downtown Stuart

Captains’ talk at 11 am

A scientific illustration of an Atlantic sailfish in profile, its tall blue dorsal sail raised and its bill pointing left

Every November the charter captains bring their boats to the Riverwalk docks, the sailfish club sets up a tent in Flagler Park and the town declares the season open. There are knot-tying tables for children, a talk at eleven on where the fish were last week and where the first cold front will push them, a display of release tags and the photographs that go with them, and a long table of fish dip from three kitchens, judged loudly.

It is free, it is outdoors and it is the easiest way to meet a captain before you book a day. Bring questions; they like them.

Good to know

  • The Riverwalk lots fill by ten; park downtown and walk.
  • The captains’ talk is the thing not to miss.
  • Children’s knot tables run all day.
  • Rain moves the talk to the Riverwalk Stage; everything else carries on.

A fictional event at a real public venue, written to show what the Keel theme can do.

While you are there

After the talk, walk to the Riverwalk and the Boathouse Kitchen.
